Genetic testing is used to predict cardiovascular risks (i.e. risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, etc.) and can also be used to predict the response and risks of commonly used drugs. Incorporating genetic testing in selected patients allows for safer medication usage, better choice of medications and other preventive treatments.

Close View of a DNA StrandWe are currently testing for Plavix metabolism (CYP 450 2C19), Beta Blockers (CYP450 2D6), Coumadin (Warfarin), Apo E, Factor II Mutation, Factor V Leiden, Hereditary Hemochromatosis, and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
